Zanzibar filmfest to host Iran ‘Gallu’

Iranian short film ‘Gallu’ is scheduled to vie at the Zanzibar International Film Festival in Tanzania.

In its 25th international screening, Kasra Tirsahar’s latest directorial experience will be screened at this year’s edition of the event.

Written by Ashkan Shariat, the film is about a rural man who accidently finds a piece of meat. And after cooking it, he notices its strange taste.

The man crazily searches for another meat that tastes the same, but the quest unleashes a series of catastrophes.

According to the official website of the event, the ZIFF is an annual film fest which accepts “some of the most captivating and cutting-edge cinema from Africa and beyond… from world-premiers to local shorts”.

The 25th edition of the event will be held on June 18-26, 2022 at the Old Fort and Cultural Center of Zanzibar City.
